Andersen has cleared the COVID-19 protocols and will serve as backup to Antti Raanta in Thursday's home game versus the Canadiens, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Andersen entered the protocols Dec. 22, but changes to the guidelines regarding quarantine time allow the Dane to suit up Thursday. He'll likely get in a practice before potentially starting Saturday versus the Blue Jackets.
