Simmonds exited the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Monday.

Simmonds has recorded three goals and three assists through his last 10 appearances prior to entering protocols. With three Leafs' right-wingers missing time already, he will be a welcome sight on the ice and could see an expanded role.
