Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Morrow may require surgery on a radial nerve that's entrapped in his right forearm but won't know whether the surgery is necessary for a few weeks, MLB.com reports. Morrow is currently resting the arm.

"I think we were hoping with a little bit of rest and rehab it would respond better and the nerve would release itself or that the time off and the rehab would help with the compression," Morrow told MLB.com. "But then when I tried to amp it up and get off the mound, [that] extra five or 10 percent effort level makes a big difference. Then it was the same as it was at the end of May."

Morrow, who is out for the remainder of the year, finishes 2013 with a 2-3 record and 5.63 ERA over 10 starts.
