Cardinals third baseman David Freese hit his first triple of the season as part of a 2-for-4 performance in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. It was just Freese's fourth triple in 1,305 career at-bats.

Freese has progressively hit better each month this season, culminating in a .338/.410/.486 line with two home runs and nine RBI in 74 June at-bats. He has hit .280/.354/.395 in 200 at-bats overall.
