ESPN Deportes reports that shortstop Hanley Ramirez is in negotiations with the Dodgers over a contract extension. Ramirez told reporters that an extension could be worked out prior to beginning of next season.
Entering the final year of a six-year, $70 million deal, Ramirez is coming off a season in which injuries limited him to 86 regular season games, and he sustained a fractured rib in the postseason. Ramirez hit .345 with 20 home runs, 57 RBI and 10 stolen bases during the regular season.
