For Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval, the hits continue to come both on and off the field. Sandoval has recorded multiple hits in five of his past seven games to lift his batting average to .316, but he continues to be hounded by concerns about his weight.

The 26-year-old is listed at 262 pounds and is attempting to slim down in an effort to increase his mobility. Despite his husky frame, Sandoval has committed just two errors in his first 24 games.

"He's getting close to where we want to get him," San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy told MLB.com Sunday. "I think when we get to where we want him to be, you'll see [his speed] pick up."
