Royals relief pitcher Ryan Madson faced batters for the first time since 2013 on Sunday, according to the Kansas City Star.
Madson has dealt with elbow injuries over the past half-decade which has kept him from making a major league appearance since 2011. During that season, he saved 32 games in 34 chances for the Phillies.
The Royals signed Madson to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training in January.
