Angels' Mike Trout: Hits, runs Saturday
Trout (hamstring) took 30 swings and ran at about 50 percent intensity Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Trout said he took 15 swings off a tee and 15 flips, so he's not yet ready to bat in the cage or face live pitching. Still, it's notable progress for the veteran outfielder, who resumed on-field activities Tuesday. Given that he still has multiple obstacles to clear -- most importantly, running at full capacity -- Trout probably won't be activated until at least early July.

Angels' Mike Trout: Takes part in on-field activities
Trout (hamstring) resumed on-field exercises Tuesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Trout has been on the shelf due to a hamstring injury since June 17, though he's said from the outset that he's expecting a short IL stint. It's still unclear, however, how long the star outfielder will be out. Manager Kurt Suzuki said of Trout on Tuesday, "He's progressing. We still don't know the timetable, but I think the activity level is ramping up a little bit and I know he's starting to feel better, so that's a good thing."

Angels' Mike Trout: Hopeful for short IL stint
Trout, who was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier Thursday, said he's beginning to feel better and is hopeful it will be a short stay on the shelf, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Trout sustained the injury during the eighth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks. The outfielder explained Thursday that he originally thought that he was dealing with a cramp, and he stated that his concern level is "pretty low," according to Erica Weston of Bally Sports West. Trout currently has no timetable for his return, but fantasy managers can at least take solace in the fact that he appears to have avoided the worst-case scenario with his hamstring.

Angels' Mike Trout: Placed on IL
The Angels placed Trout on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a hamstring injury, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Trout has tallied three homers, five RBI, seven runs and two steals during his eight-game hitting streak, but he'll now have to sit out until at least June 28 while he nurses his injured hamstring. The details of his injury remain unknown, so it's unclear whether he'll be ready to return after the 10-day minimum. Jose Siri is likely to take over as the Angels' primary center fielder until Trout returns, and Christian Moore will come up from Triple-A Salt Lake to replenish the team's bench depth.

Angels' Mike Trout: Cranks 16th homer
Trout went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Trout reached on an infield single in his first plate appearance and came around to score on a Jo Adell double. He was hit by a pitch in the third inning, then drove himself home with a solo shot to right field in the fifth. The star outfielder pushed his modest hitting streak to six games, though this was the first time during the span that he finished with multiple knocks. Trout is still batting just .230 on the season, but he's been plenty productive with 16 homers, 33 RBI, 53 runs and seven stolen bases through 72 games.
