Top Tyler Glasnow News

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Dominant in final spring start

Glasnow tossed five innings in an exhibition start against the Angels on Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters.

Glasnow gave up a solo homer to Jorge Soler in the second inning, but the veteran hurler was otherwise extraordinarily sharp, especially with his curveball -- all 11 of his punchouts came on that offering. The right-hander racked up a whopping 18 whiffs and worked up to 88 pitches, 50 of which were strikes. Glasnow has long flashed the stuff of a potential Cy Young contender, but he's had trouble staying healthy throughout his career. He'll look to change that narrative in 2026, beginning with his first projected regular-season start Friday at home against Arizona.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Smooth in Cactus League debut

Glasnow tossed two-plus innings against the White Sox in a Cactus League contest Thursday, allowing one run on one hit and no walks while striking out four batters.

Glasnow carved up Chicago in the first inning, striking out the side on 14 pitches. He retired the side in order again in the second, and then allowed a single to the only batter he faced in the third, with that runner coming around to score following Glasnow's departure. Overall, the right-hander threw 22 of 32 pitches for strikes, got six whiffs and averaged 96.7 mph on his fastball. Glasnow is a key part of the Dodgers' impressive rotation and figures to be a big asset in fantasy if he can stay healthy.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Throws first live BP of spring

Glasnow (side) completed his first live batting practice session of spring training Monday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Glasnow dealt with a sore side while making appearances out of the bullpen in the final two games of the Dodgers' World Series victory over the Blue Jays, but the right-hander appears to have had a normal offseason before he reported to spring training last week. Though sustained health has been a rarity for Glasnow during his career, he at least appears to be heading into this spring in a better spot than last year, when he was coming back from an elbow sprain that brought an early end to his 2024 season. Glasnow didn't experience any elbow-related problems during the 2025 regular season but was sidelined for over two months due to shoulder inflammation and also missed a start in August due to back tightness. He remained effective when available, however, finishing with a 3.19 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 106:43 K:BB over 90.1 innings.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Managing sore side

Glasnow was dealing with side soreness during Friday's Game 6 of the World Series, Fabian Ardaya of The Athleticreports.

Glasnow was called upon to close Friday's contest after Roki Sasaki opened the frame and allowed runners to reach second and third base without getting an out. Glasnow got the job done, getting two outs on three pitches thanks in part to a game-ending double play on a lineout to left field. Glasnow is expected to pitch in Game 7 on Saturday, but the side issue could impact how many pitches he throws. Shohei Ohtani is starting the contest for Los Angeles but probably won't log a full workload given that he'll be working on three days of rest.
