A big star traded this summer could make his preseason debut with his new team on Sunday.

Oh, sorry, you thought I meant... oh that's funny. Gosh, so embarrassed.

No, no, I mean Arron Afflalo with the Magic. From the Orlando Sentinel

Arron Afflalo, expected to be the best asset from the Dwight Howard trade, wants to make his Magic debut on Sunday after missing all four preseason games with a hamstring injury. But the shooting guard says coach Jacque Vaughn and staff will have the final call.

"I'm getting pretty close," Afflalo said after his limited participation in practice Thursday at Amway Center.

"I'll stay on the timetable of the coaching staff and do whatever they see as best fit. But I'm starting to feel healthy. I'll definitely be ready by Sunday, but it's up to them."

Yeah, OK, it's a loose definition of "star." Anyway, the Magic absolutely 100 percent need Afflalo on the floor at all times. They have very little talent on the roster. (Seriously, look at this thing.) Afflalo is their best player, and will have to create in both catch-and-shoot and off-the-dribble situations.

Getting him on the floor with a week and a half until the season begins gives them time to at least start to mesh with him on the floor. Then all he has to do is fill the void left by one of the best players in the game on a roster that looks like an industrial accident.

No biggie.
