Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki scored a team-high 38 points on 13 of 21 shooting and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds in his team's 117-115 loss to the Rockets Wednesday.
It was just the third double-double of the season for Nowitzki, who made all 11 of his free throws while adding three assists in 35 minutes as the Mavericks stormed back from a double-digit deficit in the final minutes but couldn't complete the comeback. Nowitzki has averaged 21.5 points and 6.2 rebounds over 45 games played.
