76ers' Tyrese Maxey: No rust in return
Maxey (finger) generated 26 points (10-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block across 43 minutes in Saturday's 118-114 win over the Hornets.
It was Maxey's first game since March 7, as the 25-year-old guard missed 10 straight games with a finger injury. However, he didn't need any time to reacclimate to game action, knocking down over 50 percent of his shot attempts while making significant contributions in the peripheral categories. Going back to early February, Maxey has now scored more than 20 points in 14 consecutive appearances.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Gets green light Saturday
Maxey (finger) is available for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
Maxey will shed his questionable tag and return from a 10-game absence due to a tendon injury in his right pinkie finger. The star point guard's return will leave fewer minutes available for guys like Cameron Payne, Justin Edwards and Quentin Grimes. Over nine appearances since the All-Star break, Maxey has averaged 29.3 points, 6.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 combined steals-plus-blocks in 36.2 minutes per game, though it's unclear if he'll see a full workload during his return.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Trending toward playing Saturday
Barring any pregame setbacks, Maxey (finger) is trending toward being available for Saturday's game against the Hornets, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
It appears as though Maxey has progressed enough in his recovery from a right finger sprain to play Saturday in what would be his first game since March 7, though his official status will be confirmed closer to the 6:00 p.m. ET tipoff. His return would give the Sixers a significant boost -- especially on offense -- and would likely result in Quentin Grimes reverting to a bench role. In his 10 games prior to his injury, Maxey had averaged 29.6 points, 5.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 threes, 2.3 steals and 1.0 blocks over 35.8 minutes per game.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Questionable for Saturday
Maxey (finger) is questionable for Saturday's game in Charlotte.
It was reported March 10 that Maxey would be re-evaluated in three weeks, which would have ruled him out for the rest of March, but he appears to be ahead of schedule. If Maxey is cleared to return, Quentin Grimes would likely head back to the second unit and Cameron Payne's minutes could see a sizable dip.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Will be re-evaluated in three weeks
Maxey has been diagnosed with a tendon injury in his right pinkie finger and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
This is a tough blow for the 76ers, who will also be without Paul George (suspension) until late March. Maxey sustained the finger injury with just 16 seconds remaining in Saturday's loss to Atlanta after colliding with Adem Bona. With Maxey sidelined for at least the next three weeks, VJ Edgecombe should see increased ball-handling duties, while Cameron Payne and Tyrese Martin are candidates for increased minutes.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: To miss at least two games
Maxey suffered a right finger sprain in Saturday's loss to Atlanta and will miss at least two games, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The star point guard exited Saturday's contest with just 16 seconds remaining after colliding with Adem Bona, and the former won't play in Philadelphia's upcoming back-to-back set Monday and Tuesday against the Cavaliers and Grizzlies, respectively. With Maxey sidelined, Cameron Payne and Quentin Grimes are candidates for increased playing time, while Tyrese Martin could enter the rotation. Maxey's next opportunity to play will come Thursday in Detroit.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Exits in final minute Saturday
Maxey exited to the locker room with 16 seconds remaining in Saturday's 125-116 loss to the Hawks due to an apparent right hand injury, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. He posted 31 points (12-22 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, three steals and two rebounds across 38 minutes.
The star point guard reached the 30-point threshold for the fourth time over his last seven games, though he collided with Adem Bona late in the fourth quarter and exited to the locker room while holding his right hand. If Maxey is forced to miss time, Cameron Payne and Quentin Grimes would be candidates to see an uptick in minutes. Maxey's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Monday's game in Cleveland, and he'll undergo further testing Sunday, per Tony Jones of The Athletic.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Leads Sixers with 25 points
Maxey recorded 25 points (8-22 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six assists, two rebounds, three blocks and one steal over 38 minutes during the 76ers' 106-102 win over the Jazz on Wednesday.
Maxey didn't have the most efficient night from the field, but he took 10 more shots than any other of his teammates as he absorbed more attention from the Utah defense due to the absences of Joel Embiid (oblique), Paul George (suspension), VJ Edgecombe (back) and Kelly Oubre (illness). Maxey still finished as the team's leading scorer and contributed defensively with a game-high three blocks, which was also a season high that he set twice back in November. The two-time All-Star extended his 20-plus-point streak to 12 games in Wednesday's win. Over that 12-game span, Maxey has averaged 29.2 points, 6.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 threes, 2.1 steals and 0.8 blocks over 35.8 minutes per game, though he's connected on just 30.4 percent of his three-pointers in that period.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Impressive outing not enough Sunday
Maxey racked up 33 points (12-34 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal across 43 minutes during Sunday's 114-98 loss to the Celtics.
Maxey was present all over the court for a 76ers team that was missing Joel Embiid (oblique) and Paul George (suspension), but not even this impressive line was enough to avoid a 14-point defeat. Maxey remains on fire and has scored at least 27 points in each of his six games since the All-Star break, averaging 31.2 points but only shooting 41 percent from the floor in that stretch.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Stuffs stat sheet in win
Maxey closed with 28 points (9-26 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, 11 assists, one block and five steals in 38 minutes during Thursday's 124-117 win over the Heat.
Maxey was locked in from the jump, dropping in five triples through the first quarter of play, as he moved past Allen Iverson to become the 76ers' new all-time leader in three-point makes. This was Maxey's seventh double-double of the season and his third game with at least five steals. He'll look to keep his foot on the gas pedal Sunday in Boston.
