Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame
NFL Draft analysis for Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame
Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 77.90 (Chance to start)
Pro Comparison: J. K. Dobbins
Strengths:
Compact build and low center of gravity are problems for defenders trying to tackle him. Jump cut will break ankles and open-field elusivity is a problem for defenses, whether it's him getting to the second level or being a threat in pass game. Elite contact balance that allows him to absorb hits, keep his feet moving and consistently gain yards after contact. Best pass-blocking running back in the draft but don't be fooled, he's way more than a third-down back.
Weaknesses:
Lacks top-end speed, which was more of an issue at the combine than on film. Not a big back, weighing just 194 pounds at the combine. Doesn't have the juice to consistently turn the corner against NFL defensive ends, linebackers and defensive backs.
Accolades:
- Back-to-back 1,000-yard rush seasons
- 31 TDs (27 rush, four rec) in 26 career games at ND
