Marquan McCall, DL, Kentucky
NFL Draft analysis for Marquan McCall, DL, Kentucky
Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 71.38 (Chance to start)
Pro Comparison: Foley Fatukasi
Strengths:
Hyper-active classicly shaped 0T. Stunning burst/punch combination. First-step quickness is impressive, and he'll win with that initial acceleration. He'll scrape down the line of scrimmage to get to the ball carrier -- or draw holds -- on stretch runs, and he even will toss in a spin move on occasion to show interior blockers he's more than just a pocket pusher. Not an every-down type but plays with reckless abandon when he's on the field.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't generate long speed to the quarterback. Not a genuinely special athlete for the NT spot. Hand work is not really there as a pass-rusher. More of a penetrator that someone who's going to plop down and eat double teams.
Accolades:
- 40 games played (11 starts) in four-year career
- 10.5 TFL for career
