In what has become a weird trend, ANOTHER NFL dgame has been delayed by inclement weather.
After the Saints-Buccaneers game was delayed by more than an hour on Sunday afternoon, the Seahawks-49ers Sunday night game was delayed because of lightning at about 9:05 p.m. ET. The latest from NBC, though, was that the game could resume by 9:55 p.m. ET.
Along with the season-opener between the Ravens and Broncos, this is the third delay of the young NFL season
Both teams immediately left the field, but many of the Seahawks fans, who were being pelted by heavy rain, stayed in their seats.
"We will resume play when it's safe to play," referee John Parry told the crowd when he announced that play had been suspended.
