Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) won't play against Jets
Murray injured his hamstring during practice earlier in the week. Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles will replace him in the lineup.
DeMarco Murray hasn't exactly gotten off to the greatest start to the 2015 season. Through two games, he has just 11 rushing yards on 21 carries. And now, after injuring his hamstring during practice earlier in the week, he won't play for the Eagles against the New York Jets on Sunday.
DeMarco Murray listed among Eagles inactives today.

With Murray out, the running back position will be manned by backups Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles. Mathews has not had much of a role for the Eagles so far -- he had seven total touches (four runs and three catches) in losses to the Falcons and Cowboys.
Sproles has seen the field for 40 snaps this season compared to only 21 for Mathews, per Pro Football Focus. The Eagles have been trailing for much of their two games, which led to an expanded role for the passing down back.
The Jets have one of the NFL's best run defenses thanks to a strong defensive line, and their pass defense is much improved over last season. New head coach Todd Bowles and offseason acquisitions Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine have made a big difference on that front.
It remains to be seen how the Eagles will divide the workload between their two backs with Murray out, but it figures to be tough sledding either way against New York unless the offensive line gets back on track.
