With the firing of Dennis Allen last week, former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren's name has been floated as a possible replacement for the Raiders head coaching job. Speculation grew a little more rampant when it was reported that he had visited Raiders headquarters last week.

On Monday, though, Holmgren told KRJ radio in Seattle it's unlikely he'll be the next Raiders head coach.

"Probably not," Holmgren said.

Holmgren said he visited the team because he knows owner Mark Davis and general manager Reggie McKenzie -- Davis and Holmgren discussed a potential position with the Raiders a few years ago, and Holmgren and McKenzie worked together for many years in Green Bay. But Holmgren wasn't there to talk about a job.

Instead, he watched film and gave some opinions about the current state of Oakland's squad.

"No jobs were discussed," Holmgren said. "Nothing like that. It wasn't about a job."

That doesn't mean Holmgren -- who has a career coaching record of 161-111 to go with a Super Bowl title, three NFC championships, and a cool picture of him with Joe Montana and Steve Young when he coached in San Francisco -- hasn't pondered the possibility of returning to the sidelines, even at the age of 66.

"My life is really good right now," he said. "I get to see my grandkids play soccer. I get to travel. Everything is good. Every once in a while, you get a phone call or some little itch there. I don't know if that will ever go away. But I'm not looking for anything. Things are pretty good."
