Panthers' Robert Hunt: Limited to open week
Hunt (biceps) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Hunt is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn biceps that he suffered in Week 2 against the Cardinals. He was limited in his first practice since September, and he would likely have to log consecutive limited practices before being cleared to return. Sunday's game against the Seahawks may be too soon for him to return, so Week 18 against the Buccaneers would be his next chance to play if he's ruled out for Week 17.

Panthers' Robert Hunt: Designated for return from IR
Carolina designated Hunt (biceps) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Hunt can now practice for the first time since he tore his biceps Week 2 against Arizona. The veteran offensive guard is technically eligible to be activated any time and could return to game action as soon as Sunday against Seattle, though that's unlikely to happen since coach Dave Canales has said that Hunt will need some time to ramp back up following his long absence, per Gantt. If Hunt is able to play again this season, it would be a big boost to the Panthers' offensive line considering that he's coming off a Pro Bowl 2024 campaign.

Panthers' Robert Hunt: Optimsim for return in 2025
Head coach Dave Canales said Monday that the Panthers won't open Hunt's (biceps) 21-day practice window this week, but there is optimism that the sixth-year offensive lineman will return before the end of the 2025 season, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Hunt was placed on injured reserve in mid-September after he tore his biceps during the Panthers' Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. He hasn't progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared to practice, but there's a chance that the 2020 second-rounder could be activated off injured reserve before the end of the season. Jake Curhan will remain as Carolina's starting right guard for this Sunday's NFC South tilt against the Saints.

Panthers' Robert Hunt: Done for the season?
Head coach Dave Canales told reporters Monday that Hunt could miss the rest of the season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a torn biceps, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
The 29-year-old guard was expected to miss at least four games after being placed on injured reserve following the Panthers' Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. However, Canales comments Monday suggest Hunt could be sidelined for the remainder of Carolina's 2025 campaign. Expect Chandler Zavala to continue starting as the Panthers' top right guard while Hunt remains out.

Panthers' Robert Hunt: Placed on injured reserve
The Panthers placed Hunt (biceps) on injured reserve Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
A stint on injured reserve requires a player to miss at least the next four games, but Hunt will likely be out longer due to a torn biceps that he suffered during Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. Chandler Zavala is expected to start at right guard for as long as Hunt is out of action.

Panthers' Robert Hunt: Tears biceps, headed for IR
The Panthers placed Hunt on injured reserve Monday after he tore his biceps in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Cardinals, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Hunt will have surgery to repair the torn biceps, and his move to IR means that he'll have to miss the Panthers' next four games, and likely longer. A first-time Pro Bowl selection in 2024, Hunt had been a key cog along the Panthers' offensive line at right guard. Chandler Zavala is expected to replace him in the starting lineup beginning with Sunday's game against the Falcons.
