Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Not playing in season finale
Waddle (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Waddle had been listed as questionable for the season finale after he managed just two limited practices this week while tending to the injury to his ribs, and with little at stake in Sunday's contest, the Dolphins will err on the side of caution and hold the receiver out. He'll conclude his fifth NFL season with a 64-910-6 receiving line on 100 targets to go along with 28 rushing yards over 16 games. Miami will have Malik Washington, Cedrick Wilson, Theo Wease, Tahj Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as its available options at receiver for Week 18.

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Not expected to play Sunday
Waddle, who is officially listed as questionable with a rib injury, isn't expected to play in Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Official word on Waddle's status will arrive when the Dolphins post their inactive list 90 minutes prior to their 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but Miami appears set to be without two of its top playmakers in the finale, as star running back De'Von Achane (shoulder) is listed as doubtful and expected to sit out. Waddle's expected absence will leave Malik Washington, Cedrick Wilson, Theo Wease, Tahj Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as Miami's available options at receiver.

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Questionable for Week 18
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Waddle (ribs) will be limited in practice Friday and listed as questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports.
Waddle missed practice Wednesday and since has logged back-to-back limited sessions, though it sounds like his status for Sunday's divisional matchup and season finale could come down to the wire. It appears Miami will consider holding out a number of key playmakers, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, as Darren Waller (groin) will be placed on IR and De'Von Achane (shoulder) will sit out practice again Friday, though the standout running back hasn't yet been ruled out for Week 18. Waddle's status will be made official no later than 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited in return to practice
Waddle (ribs) returned to a limited practice Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
After missing practice Wednesday, Waddle's return to a capped session a day later bodes well for his chances of being available for Sunday's season finale against the Patriots. Friday's final injury report is set to determine whether the Dolphins' top wideout heads into the weekend with an injury designation or cleared to face New England in Week 18.

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Not practicing
Waddle (ribs) isn't practicing Wednesday, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports.
Waddle injured his ribs during the second quarter of Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He returned late in the third quarter but ultimately played just 26 percent of Miami's snaps on offense. With 910 receiving yards on the season, Waddle has some extra motivation to suit up for Week 18 against New England if his availability comes down to a matter of pain tolerance.
