  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: One of each Wednesday

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on three shots, notched an assist, logged two hits, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 6-2 preseason loss to the Kraken. Draisaitl scored a goal of his own and set up Travis Dermott as the Oilers erased a 2-0 deficit, but that was the extent of their offense. The 28-year-old Draisaitl has produced three points and seven shots on net in three preseason outings. He'll see significant ice time in all situations once again in 2024-25 with his sights set on earning a sixth 100-point season in seven years.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Signs massive eight-year deal

Draisaitl signed an eight-year, $112 million contract with Edmonton on Tuesday. Draisaitl's new contract will go into effect beginning in the 2025-26 season and contains an annual average value of $14 million, which will make him the highest-paid player in the NHL -- even above teammate Connor McDavid and Toronto's Auston Matthews. The 2023-24 campaign could be termed a down season for the 28-year-old center, considering he failed to reach the 50-goal threshold for the first time in the previous three seasons and was limited to just 39 power-play points -- down from 62 in 2022-23. Still, Draisaitl should be a near lock to reach 100 points in 2024-25, as his durability is matched by few others. He's missed just five games over the past four campaigns.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Sets up opening goal

Draisaitl registered an assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 5-1 win over the Panthers in Game 7. Draisaitl's goal drought is up to eight games, but he's picked up three helpers over the last three contests. The 28-year-old set up Warren Foegele for the Oilers' opening goal Friday. Draisaitl is at 31 points, 73 shots on net, 23 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 24 playoff outings.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Supplies pair of assists

Draisaitl notched two assists, three shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Panthers in Game 4. Draisaitl hadn't had much success in the Stanley Cup Finals before Saturday's matchup. He'd been held off the scoresheet for three straight contests before he broke through in Game 4. The 28-year-old is up to 30 points (15 on the power play) with 69 shots on net, 23 hits, 15 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 22 playoff appearances. Draisaitl rarely goes cold in the postseason, and if the Oilers are going to come back in the series, he'll likely be a big part of that.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Provides power-play assist

Draisaitl logged a power-play assist and two PIM in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Stars in Game 6. With just four points over six games in the Western Conference Finals, Draisaitl actually had a quiet round. That ultimately didn't matter, as Connor McDavid picked up the slack to help the Oilers make the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2006. Draisaitl is at 10 goals, 18 helpers, 57 shots on goal, 17 hits and 12 PIM through 18 playoff outings. The Panthers will likely have Aleksander Barkov hard-matched with McDavid in the Stanley Cup Finals, so there could be more room for Draisaitl to make an impact on his own line.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Supplies power-play helper

Draisaitl notched a power-play assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 5. Draisaitl set up Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' second goal of the game, which stood as the game-winner. It's been a bit of a quiet round for Draisaitl, at least by his lofty standards, as he's posted three points over five contests against the Stars. For the playoffs, he's at 10 goals, 17 helpers, 57 shots on net, 17 hits, 13 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 17 outings.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Returns to scoresheet with goal

Draisaitl scored a goal on three shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Stars in Game 4. Draisaitl began the playoffs with a 13-game point streak, but the Stars silenced him in Games 2 and 3. He bounced back Wednesday, netting his 10th goal of the postseason just after a penalty kill that saw the Oilers take the lead on a Mattias Janmark shorthanded tally. Draisaitl is up to 26 points, 56 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-2 rating over 16 playoff contests.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Point streak at 13 games

Draisaitl scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-2 double-overtime win over the Stars in Game 1. Draisaitl opened the scoring 58 seconds into the second period, extending his point streak to 13 games in the process. It spans the entire postseason, with the center earning a league-leading 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) during the playoffs. Draisaitl has added 48 shots on net, 10 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. He's started the Western Conference Finals on his own line, but if the Oilers falter later in the series, he could once again be moved up to play alongside Connor McDavid.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Helps out on power play

Draisaitl logged a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 win over the Canucks in Game 7. Draisaitl has yet to be held off the scoresheet through two rounds of the playoffs. He kept the streak alive with a secondary helper on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' second-period tally, which was the game-winner. Draisaitl is up to eight goals, 16 assists, 12 power-play points, 45 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 12 playoff contests.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Keeps rolling with two helpers

Draisaitl produced two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6. Draisaitl set up the Oilers' first and last goals, scored by Dylan Holloway and Evander Kane, respectively. The pair of helpers extended Draisaitl's playoff point streak to 11 contests, during which he has eight goals and 15 assists. He's added 42 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating this postseason. Draisaitl also became the third-fastest player in NHL history to 100 playoff points, doing so in just 60 appearances. Only Wayne Gretzky (46 games) and Mario Lemieux (50 games) did it faster.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Point streak at 10 games

Draisaitl logged an assist, two shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks in Game 5. Draisaitl extended his point streak to 10 games, though this was just the second time in that span he's been held to a single point. The 28-year-old has often looked like the Oilers' best player in the postseason, racking up eight goals, 13 helpers, 41 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating. He's earned 11 of his points with the man advantage and should continue to see significant ice time in all situations.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Another two-point effort

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on four shots, added an assist and logged four hits in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Canucks in Game 4. Draisaitl earned his eighth multi-point effort in nine playoff contests. He finished off a Connor McDavid pass for the opening tally in the first period and set up Evan Bouchard's game-winning goal in the final minute of the third. Draisaitl is up to eight goals, 20 points, 39 shots on net and a plus-2 rating this postseason, ranking first in the league in points and third in goals.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Two points in loss

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on five shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3. Draisaitl got the Oilers within a goal in the second period and helped out on Evan Bouchard's tally in the third, but it wasn't enough. The 28-year-old Draisaitl has multiple points in seven of eight playoff contests, with the lone exception being the Oilers' 1-0 win over the Kings in Game 4 of the first round. He's at seven goals, 11 helpers, 35 shots on net, eight PIM and a plus-3 rating this postseason.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Fills stat sheet Friday

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished three assists, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2. Not bad for a guy who was considered a game-time decision after dealing with cramping issues in Wednesday's Game 1 and skipping practice Thursday. Draisaitl was involved in all of the Oilers' goals, including scoring their first one of the game. He was listed on the first line with Connor McDavid rather than centering his own line, though both players shared faceoff duties. Draisaitl is up to six goals, 10 assists, 30 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through seven playoff outings, and he's yet to be held off the scoresheet this postseason.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Expected to play Friday

Draisaitl (undisclosed) is warming up and is expected to suit up against the Canucks for Game 2 on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Draisaitl missed a morning skate after dealing with cramping issues during Wednesday's Game 1 loss. Fortunately for Edmonton, he shouldn't miss any additional time. The star forward has five goals and 12 points through six games this postseason. Draisaitl tallied two assists in Game 1 against Vancouver.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Questionable for Game 2

Draisaitl (undisclosed) is day-to-day and questionable for Game 2 against Vancouver on Friday, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports Thursday. Draisaitl dealt with a cramping issue during the second period of Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks, though he was able to return in the third frame. However, the 28-year-old forward then missed Thursday's morning skate, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV. Draisaitl's value to the Oilers can't be overstated. He has five goals and 12 points through six playoff outings. If he's unable to play and Adam Henrique (lower body) returns after missing Game 1, then perhaps Henrique will serve as Edmonton's second-line center. However, if neither forward is available, then Ryan McLeod might be moved into that top-six role.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Grabs two helpers

Draisaitl recorded a pair of assists in Wednesday's 5-4 Game 1 loss to Vancouver. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Draisaitl was dealing with cramps in the second period before returning in the third. Draisaitl managed just 16:43 of ice time due to his cramping issue, his lowest total during a game this postseason. Still, the world-class center has registered at least a point in all six playoff contests, racking up a combined five goals and seven helpers, including eight power-play points.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Two goals to clinch series

Draisaitl scored a pair of goals on a team-high six shots in Wednesday's 4-3 Game 5 victory over the Kings. Draisaitl tied the game 2-2 midway through the second period with a power-play goal before putting Edmonton ahead just a few minutes later with a second tally, beating David Rittich with a one-timer off a Connor McDavid feed. It was an excellent start to the post-season for Draisaitl -- the 28-year-old center tallied five goals and 10 points in the Oilers' decisive five-game series victory.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Sets up decisive goal

Draisaitl recorded a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Kings in Game 4. Draisaitl has eight points over four playoff outings, and six of those points have come with the man advantage. He set up Evan Bouchard's second-period marker Sunday, which was enough to give the Oilers a 3-1 lead in this first-round series. While Draisaitl's 5-on-5 offense has been lacking, he continues to be a reliable scorer while seeing big minutes in the top six and on the power play.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Three-point effort in Game 3 win

Draisaitl scored twice on four shots, added an assist, went plus-2, blocked two shots and logged two PIM in Friday's 6-1 win over the Kings in Game 3. Draisaitl's first goal was at even strength, while his other two points were on the power play. The 28-year-old has been in peak form with three goals, four helpers, 15 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through three playoff contests. With the Oilers leading the series 2-1, Draisaitl is likely to remain on the second line rather than moving up to play alongside Connor McDavid.
