  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: First career power-play snipe

Ritchie scored a power-play goal Saturday in a 2-0 win over Tampa Bay. It was a slick little move that caught Jonas Johansson flat-footed. On a power play, an Islanders point shot caromed off the end boards to Ritchie, who put his stick between his legs and banked the puck off Johansson and into the net from the left post. Richie's goal was the game-winner. It's the rookie's first career power-play marker and third goal this season (19 games).

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Pots game-winner Thursday

Ritchie scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Red Wings. The 20-year-old center opened the scoring early in the first period by snapping a puck past John Gibson from the faceoff dot, and it was all the offensive support Ilya Sorokin would need. The Islanders' fourth line carried the scoring load, as Ritchie, Max Shabanov and Casey Cizikas combined for three goals and seven points on the night. Ritchie, the 27th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, hasn't had many chances to flash his upside since being acquired from the Avs in the Brock Nelson deal, but after getting held off the scoresheet completely in his first nine games with the Isles, he's picked up two goals and three points in the last two contests.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Nets first goal of season

Ritchie scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Stars. The goal was Ritchie's first as an Islander, and it was his first point in 10 appearances this season. The 20-year-old started out in a top-six role, but his lack of production has led to him seeing less than 10 minutes of ice time in his last six outings. He's put up seven shots on net, seven blocked shots and eight PIM.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Sent down to minors

Ritchie (lower body) was reassigned to AHL Bridgeport on Monday. Ritchie's demotion to the minors clears the way for him to return to action following his lower-body issue that saw him start the year on non-roster, injured reserve. Once the 20-year-old center gets his legs back under him, he should be in the mix for a call-up, though he figures to play the bulk of his games in the minors.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Resumes skating

Ritchie (lower body) has resumed skating on his own, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports Wednesday. Ritchie suffered a lower-body injury during Thursday's preseason game against the Flyers and is on the non-roster injured list to begin the regular season. He initially carried a return timetable of 1-2 weeks after sustaining his injury, and he'll likely report to AHL Bridgeport once he's healthy.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Placed on non-roster list

Ritchie (lower body) was placed on the non-roster injured list Monday. Ritchie sustained a lower-body injury during Thursday's preseason game against the Flyers, and the Islanders previously announced that he was expected to miss 1-2 weeks. He was on the roster bubble ahead of the regular season, but his placement on the non-roster injured list suggests that he'll head to AHL Bridgeport once he's back to full health.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Set to miss 1-2 weeks

The Islanders announced Friday that Ritchie (lower body) is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. Ritchie exited Thursday's preseason game against the Flyers due to his lower-body injury, and he'll miss some time ahead of the regular season. He made just seven regular-season appearances in the NHL last year and was on the roster bubble ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. His injury could impact his chances of opening the regular season with the Islanders, but if he winds up in the minors, he'll likely be among the first candidates to be called up this year.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Hurt in Thursday's game

Ritchie (lower body) didn't finish Thursday's game versus the Flyers and will undergo further evaluation when the Islanders return home. Ritchie is right on the roster bubble after a strong preseason, but the injury looms large over his chances of making the roster. The 20-year-old center will have a week to heal up prior to next Thursday's Opening Night road game versus the Penguins.

  • Avalanche's Calum Ritchie: Notches two points in debut

Ritchie (shoulder) made his season debut for OHL Oshawa against Kingston on Sunday, recording a goal and an assist. Ritchie managed 59 points in 59 games for the Generals last season and looks poised to average at least a point per game this season as well. Selected by the Avs with the 27th pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the 18-year-old center could make the jump to the professional ranks next season if he continues to impress with his offensive upside.

  • Avalanche's Calum Ritchie: Will miss start of season

Ritchie (shoulder) will miss training camp and the start of the season, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports. Ritchie underwent shoulder surgery following his season with OHL Oshawa. While no specific timeline has been established, his recovery will last into the season, making it unlikely Ritchie plays before November.

  • Avalanche's Calum Ritchie: Dealing with shoulder

Ritchie underwent shoulder surgery following last season and didn't skate at Development Camp, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports. Ritchie, taken 27th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, remains a question mark as the Avalanche prepare for the Rookie Faceoff Tournament that begins Friday in Las Vegas. He was hoping to be available for the tournament, which features the top prospects from Anaheim, Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles, San Jose and Vegas.
