Ben Taylor: Cut loose by Chicago

The Cubs released Taylor on Thursday.

Taylor was attending spring training with Chicago as a non-roster invitee, but the right-hander apparently wasn't in serious contention for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen. He spent the entire 2019 season with the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate at Reno, producing a 5.63 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 46 appearances.
