Mariners' Samad Taylor: Designated for assignment

The Mariners designated Taylor for assignment Wednesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Blake Hunt. Taylor, 26, spent nearly all of the 2024 season at Triple-A Tacoma, putting up a .732 OPS with 11 homers and 50 steals.
