Cano was participating in the DWL after sitting out the entire 2021 season while he resided on the Mets' restricted list, but he's now considered week-to-week with a back issue. It's not yet clear whether the injury will affect his availability for spring training in 2022. The 39-year-old second baseman is on the Mets' books through the 2023 campaign.
