Red Sox's Andrew Politi: Returns to Red Sox

Politi cleared waivers and was returned Tuesday to the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After being selected by the Orioles in the Rule 5 Draft, Politi is back where it all started. The 26-year-old right-hander pitched to a sharp 2.34 ERA and 83:22 K:BB in 69.1 innings last season between Boston's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He mostly struggled in O's camp this spring.
