Reds' Max Schrock: Booted from 40-man roster

Schrock (kneecap) was designated for assignment by the Reds on Monday.

Schrock was transferred to the 60-day injured list in early August while recovering from a fractured kneecap, but he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster with the Reds selecting Chase Anderson's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Even if the 27-year-old goes unclaimed on waivers, he's unlikely to return to action in 2022.
