Ryan Carpenter: Heads to Taiwan

Carpenter (elbow) signed with the Rakuten Monkeys in Taiwan on Saturday, Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports.

Carpenter struggled to an awful 9.30 ERA and a 1.82 WHIP in 40.2 innings for the Tigers in 2019. He missed most of the final two months of the season with an elbow impingement.
