Ryan Carpenter: Let go by Detroit

Carpenter (elbow) was released by the Tigers on Tuesday.

Carpenter accrued a 9.30 ERA and 1.82 WHIP with a 25:13 K:BB over 40.2 innings this season in the big leagues. His release makes room on the 40-man roster for Troy Stokes, who was claimed off waivers by Detroit on Tuesday.
