Twins' Chris Vallimont: Protected from Rule 5 draft

Vallimont was added to the Twins' 40-man roster Friday.

The 24-year-old righty's future likely lies in the bullpen, as he walked 61 batters in 91 innings at Double-A last season. While he has logged some high strikeout rates in the minors, Vallimont doesn't have typical ninth-inning stuff.
