Engel signed a one-year, $1.38 million contract with the White Sox on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration.
Engel impressed at the plate while appearing in 36 games for the White Sox in 2020, slashing .295/.333/.477 with three home runs and 12 RBI. He was able to come to an agreement with the club prior to arbitration. The 29-year-old should serve as outfield depth for Chicago to begin the 2021 season.
