  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Socks third homer

Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Brewers.

The shortstop took Jacob Misiorowski deep for a solo shot in the fifth inning to get the Blue Jays on the board in what wound up as a 9-7 win in 10 frames. It was Gimenez's third homer of the season in 16 games after he popped just seven in 101 contests last season, and he's slashing .276/.323/.483 with three steals, five runs and 11 RBI.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Returns to Arizona lineup

Marte (back) will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game versus the Orioles.

Lower-back tightness led to Marte being a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup, but he's feeling well enough to be the Diamondbacks' DH for Wednesday's series finale. Ildemaro Vargas will play second base for Arizona.

  • JJ Wetherholt 2B | STL

Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Belts pair of homers

Wetherholt went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Guardians.

After striking out in his first plate appearance Tuesday, Wetherholt dug in and delivered the biggest swings of the night. The 23-year-old took Joey Cantillo deep for a solo shot in the third before adding a two-run homer in the eighth to cut the deficit to one in the eventual comeback win. Both long balls came on the first pitch of the at-bat and were off lefties. It was the first multi-homer game of his young career and his first long balls since going deep in his MLB debut on Opening Day. Through 17 games, the rookie is slashing .231/.338/.385 with eight RBI and 13 runs scored.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Another three-hit game

Turang went 3-for-6 with an RBI single, one steal and two runs scored during Milwaukee's 9-7 extra-inning loss to Toronto on Tuesday.

Turang's RBI single in the ninth reduced the Brewers' deficit to 6-5, and after stealing second, he was brought home on a Brandon Lockridge double to tie things up. Turang has tallied at least three hits in each of his last two games and three times overall this season. He is slashing .321/.446/.604 with six steals (on seven attempts), three home runs and 10 RBI in 66 plate appearances.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers again Tuesday

Lowe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Nationals.

Lowe entered play Tuesday batting .105 with zero extra-base hits and a 0:6 BB:K across 19 plate appearances against left-handed pitching. Lefty PJ Poulin served as the opener for the Nationals, and Lowe took him deep on a 78 mph sweeper on the seventh pitch of the at-bat in the bottom of the first inning. It was Lowe's seventh homer of the season and fourth in the last three games. Lowe later walked and scored in his second plate appearance but was pinch-hit for in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and left-hander Mitchell Parker on the mound for Washington. Nick Yorke promptly grounded into an inning-ending double play. Perhaps Lowe's first-inning long ball off the lefty will get him more chances to face southpaws moving forward. Lowe is slashing .268/.397/.679 with seven homers, 15 RBI, 11 runs scored and an 11:14 BB:K across 68 plate appearances.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Powers offense Tuesday

Hoerner went 2-for-6 with a run scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies.

Hoerner has been off to a hot start with a .303/.397/.455 slash line through 17 games. The Cubs have responded by moving the speedy infielder up to the leadoff spot, and it looks like a move that could stick for a while based on his sustained good play. Hoerner has also contributed five steals in five attempts, and his ability on the bases is what largely drives his fantasy value.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Expected back Wednesday

Manager Torey Lovullo said he expects Marte (back) to rejoin the starting lineup Wednesday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Marte was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup due to lower-back tightness, but Lovullo's comments suggest that the star second baseman isn't dealing with anything too severe. Marte has been heating up as of late, going 9-for-33 (.273) with three homers, seven RBI and six runs scored across his last eight games.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Scratched from lineup

Marte was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles due to lower-back tightness, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

It's unclear how severe Marte's injury is, but the Diamondbacks may provide more details in the near future. In the meantime, Ildemaro Vargas will slide over to second base Tuesday, opening up first for Luken Baker.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: First career outfield appearance

Gelof is starting in right field and batting seventh Tuesday versus the Rangers.

Tuesday's game will mark Geldof's first career regular-season appearance in the outfield at the major-league level. The second baseman got work in the outfield during spring training as well as a few games of work in Triple-A Las Vegas after failing to make the Opening Day roster.

  • Nick Yorke 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Yorke: Sitting down Tuesday

Yorke isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Yorke will get a day off Tuesday after going 0-for-9 with three strikeouts over his last two games. Nick Gonzales will pick up a start at third base as a result and will bat sixth.
