MacKinnon (lower body) is on track to return to the lineup Wednesday versus the Maple Leafs, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
MacKinnon is expected to be cleared for contact at the Avalanche's next practice, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports, which would presumably be the last hurdle for him to clear before a return. The Avalanche have not been short on goals in his absence, but adding the superstar center back to the mix should bolster the team's top line in the near future.
