Valis scored two goals in AHL Toronto's 5-3 win over Hershey on Friday.
Valis had started slow this season, logging just one assist over his first nine games before his breakout in this contest. He had 25 points over 60 regular-season outings as an AHL rookie last year. Valis will need to be more consistent on offense to force his way into the call-up discussion.
