Huberdeau (not injury related) returned to practice Wednesday after clearing the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
With Huberdeau back at practice, he could be an option for Wednesday's clash with the Rangers, though the team could opt to keep him out until it faces off with Tampa Bay on Thursday. Prior to the extended Christmas break, the 28-year-old winger garnered three goals and 10 assists in his previous eight contests, including four power-play helpers. Whenever Huberdeau does rejoin the lineup, it figures to be in a top-six role in addition to jumping back onto the No. 1 power-play unit.
