  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Racking up accolades

Celebrini picked up an assist in a 7-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Celebrini extended his point streak to 10 games (seven goals, 13 assists). The 19-year-old, who was named to Team Canada this week for the upcoming Olympics, will be the first teenager to represent Canada in men's hockey at an Olympic event that features NHL players. Celebrini is third in NHL scoring with 63 points (22 goals, 41 assists) through 41 games, and on New Year's Day, he was named the NHL's third star for December. His 62 points in 40 games is third best among teenagers in the NHL behind Wayne Gretzky (21 goals, 49 assists; 70 points) in 1980-81 with Edmonton and Sidney Crosby (21 goals, 45 assists; 66 points in 2006-07 with Pittsburgh.

  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Heroic effort in shootout win

Celebrini scored a goal, recorded an assist, fired four shots on net and had two blocks in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over Minnesota. Celebrini checked multiple boxes in San Jose's win Wednesday, including a wrist-shot goal to give the Sharks an early lead in the shootout. In regulation, he tallied the primary helper on the goal scored by his newest linemate, Igor Chernyshov, before the prior lit the lamp himself in the third. With the pair of points, Celebrini is up to 22 goals, 40 assists, 126 shots on net and 21 blocks through 40 appearances this season. The 19-year-old superstar used Wednesday's game to raise his point streak to eight games and is just one point shy of matching his offensive output in 70 games a year ago. His goal-scoring efficiency has taken a leap this season, as he's up to a 17.2 shooting percentage, which is nearly seven percent higher than he had a season ago. While it would be difficult to replicate the production from his first half of the season, not only is reaching 100 points possible, but Celebrini also has a legitimate chance to double the 63 points he had as a rookie.

  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Three-point showing in win

Celebrini scored a goal and added two assists in Monday's 5-4 win over the Ducks. Celebrini was able to return to the contest after taking a puck to the face in the third period. He earned all three of his points over the first two frames, extending his point streak to eight games (six goals, 11 helpers). The 19-year-old superstar is the third player to reach 60 points this season, trailing only Connor McDavid (69) and Nathan MacKinnon (66) through Monday's action. Celebrini has done it with 21 goals, 39 helpers, 122 shots on net and a plus-13 rating over 39 appearances, and a 100-point campaign for him is beginning to become more of an expectation than a dream midway through the season.

Celebrini scored an empty-net goal, distributed two assists, placed three shots on goal and served two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 win over Carolina.
