MLB.com reported that shortstop Alcides Escobar was out of the Royals lineup for the third straight game Thursday due to back stiffness, and that he's likely to miss Friday's action as well.
"We'll see about Saturday," Royals manager Ned Yost said, per MLB.com. "It's a little bit stiff. It's getting better and better every day, but there's no need to rush this."
Escobar is hitting .293/.313/.452 with no home runs or stolen bases in 32 plate appearances this spring.
