Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind was out of the lineup at his Gulf Coast League rehab assignment Thursday due to a sore back, according to the National Post.

Lind, who is working his way back from a broken foot, was dealing with back tightness after Wednesday's rehab debut. With rain in the forecast Thursday, the team opted to play it safe, given Lind's history of back issues.

"No change to Lind's status from what I said a day ago," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "He was scheduled to have two ABs and he got them. We don't anticipate any issues. Obviously if it's sore or tight tomorrow, we'll adjust."

The team still anticipates Lind returning to action by early next week.
