Jake Smolinski fitted for walking boot; out 2-3 weeks

Rangers outfielder Jake Smolinski is expected to miss another 2-3 weeks as a result of a fracture in his left foot, as ESPN.com reports he was spotted in a walking boot Friday.

Smolinski had been trying to participate in baseball activities prior to this, but will now be shut down to let the injury heal. He was hitting .389/.450/.472 in 36 at-bats prior to the injury.
