Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth will miss the next two or three days after receiving a cortisone shot in his right shoulder to help relieve pain from an AC joint sprain, the Washington Post reports.

"He’ll let it get to work a little bit," manager Matt Williams said Wednesday. "He should be good to go. It’s one of things, it’s kind of just a painful thing. There’s no structural damage. No issues with anything else, according to the picture. It’ll just calm it down and get the inflammation out of there. But during the process, he can’t play. We’ve got to shut him down for a couple days at least."

Werth received an MRI Tuesday that showed he had no structural damage in his labrum rotator cuff, but he's had trouble playing through the pain in the AC joint. He has hit .279/.370/.430 with 12 home runs, 63 RBI and five stolen bases in 416 at-bats.
