Sergio Romo earns 31st save

Giants closer Sergio Romo pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Pirates, allowing one hit and striking out one while picking up his 31st save.

The hit was Romo's first baserunner in four starts after throwing three perfect innings from Aug. 15 through Aug. 20. He's converted 31 of 35 save opportunities while posting a 2.66 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 50:8 K:BB ratio in 47 1/3 innings.
