Yankees manager Joe Giardi said he expects center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury to return from the disabled list on Wednesday. Girardi echoed the comments made by general manager Brian Cashman on Monday, stating the Ellsbury would be activated on Wednesday.
Ellsbury, who has been down with a knee injury since May 19, had been struggling before landing on the DL. Over his last 10 games, he's batting .200 with one extra-base hit. He does sport a nice .324 batting average for the season.
