Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki ended his free agency with little drama, agreeing to a three-year deal to return to Dallas Thursday.

Nowitzki will stay with the Mavericks, the only team he has ever played with, on a three-year deal worth roughly $30 million, according to ESPN.com. That would represent a steep pay cut for the 36-year-old, who made $22 million last season.

Nowitszki appeared in all but two games for the Mavericks a year ago, averaging 21.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.
