The Rockets signed Aaron Brooks on Tuesday, after the former Kings guard cleared waivers. Brooks returns to Houston where he played three-and-a-half seasons early in his career. Brooks slides in as a backup point guard behind Jeremy Lin after Toney Douglas was traded to ... Sacramento, who waived Brooks. You see how this switcheroo works.
Brooks flirted with the starting job in Sacramento, but teammates wanted Isaiah Thomas, who outplayed Brooks with energy. Brooks is averaging 8 points and 2.3 assists this season with a 56.2 True Shooting Percentage. He'll battle with Patrick Beverley for minutes behind Lin.
