Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Ruled out Saturday
Jerome (back) won't play in Saturday's game versus Sacramento, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian.
Jerome has played of late while battling a nagging back injury, though it will finally force him to miss his first game of the 2026-27 campaign. With Scotty Pippen (back) also sidelined, Cam Spencer is the favorite to start at the one.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Questionable versus Kings
Jerome (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Kings.
This isn't the first mention of Jerome's nagging back issue, though it didn't stop him from suiting up for the 124-103 win over the Trail Blazers on Thursday. The 29-year-old has played at an All-Star level in his five regular-season appearances in 2026-27, averaging 25.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists, all career highs, along with 1.0 steals in 29.8 minutes per contest. With that in mind, if Jerome can't get on the floor Saturday versus Sacramento, Cam Spencer and Scotty Pippen (back) are candidates for more minutes.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Available Thursday
Jerome (back) is available for Thursday's game at Portland.
Jerome was added to the injury report less than an hour before tipoff, though he was cleared to play after going through pregame warmups. The veteran guard has been spectacular through four regular-season games, averaging 29.8 points, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 triples and 0.8 steals in 31.3 minutes per contest.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Late addition to injury report
Jerome is questionable for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers due to back tightness.
Jerome was added to the injury report less than one hour before tipoff, so it appears the back issue recently popped up. The team should have another update on his availability shortly.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Scores 31 points Sunday
Jerome posted 31 points (8-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 14-14 FT), four rebounds, six assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Sunday's 123-112 win over the Kings.
Jerome continued his impressive start to the season, reaching the 30-point mark for the second time in three games. His perfect 14-for-14 performance at the free-throw line compensated for a difficult night from beyond the arc, while his six assists showed he's more than just a scoring threat out of the backcourt. He's had at least 25 points and five dimes in his first three outings of the season, and while he was widely seen as a breakout candidate for the 2026-27 campaign, these numbers are surpassing even the most optimistic expectations.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Pops for game-high 28 in Friday's win
Jerome racked up 28 points (11-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 111-108 win over Golden State.
The 28 points led all scorers on the night, as Jerome cooled off only slightly from his dazzling 45-point performance in the Grizzlies' opener. The 29-year-old point guard is taking on a much bigger role in his second season with Memphis now that Ja Morant is out of the picture, and so far he's seizing the opportunity. Jerome won't keep shooting 59.8 percent from the floor, but as long as he's attempting more than 20 shots a game, his fantasy value will skyrocket.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Erupts in season opener
Jerome finished with 45 points (17-25 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one block across 32 minutes in Wednesday's 123-103 win over Utah.
Jerome wasn't messing around to kick off the 2026-27 campaign, reaching a new career high in scoring while simultaneously setting a franchise Opening Night scoring record. The 29-year-old ended the 2025-26 campaign by averaging a career-best 19.7 points in 15 regular-season games with the Grizzlies. While Jerome will have difficulty maintaining Wednesday's level of production throughout the rest of the 2026-27 campaign, there's reason to believe he is on the cusp of a career year.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Nets 17 points with three swipes
Jerome contributed 17 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and three steals over 22 minutes in Friday's 117-98 preseason win over the Hornets.
Jerome is locked in as Memphis' starting point guard, and he was impressive throughout the preseason, scoring efficiently while flashing his playmaking upside. The 29-year-old could be in for a career year with the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Nails four triples in Friday's win
Jerome tallied 16 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists and one rebound over 14 minutes during Friday's 104-100 preseason win over the Bulls.
All of Jerome's production came in the first half, with the veteran point guard sitting out for last two quarters. He was limited to just 15 regular-season games last year due to ankle and calf injuries, but now that Ja Morant is in Portland, Jerome figures to start alongside Cedric Coward in Memphis' backcourt, with Scotty Pippen and Cam Spencer providing depth.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Nets 17 points with four assists
Jerome tallied 17 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists and one rebound over 19 minutes in Wednesday's 122-118 preseason loss to the Magic.
Jerome scored efficiently, did a nice job distributing the rock, and finished without committing a single turnover. He's looked great as Memphis' starting point guard through these first two preseason games and appears primed for a breakout season.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Dishes out five assists
Jerome registered 12 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five assists and one block across 15 minutes in Monday's 132-123 preseason win over the Hawks.
Jerome started at point guard and did a good job running Memphis' offense, leading the team with five assists while reaching double figures on only eight shots. He committed three turnovers but otherwise made good use of his limited playing time before sitting out the second half. Jerome should have an opportunity to handle significant playmaking responsibilities in Memphis' backcourt, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's the Grizzlies' starting point guard once the 2026-27 regular season begins.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Emerging at point guard
Jerome is emerging as a potential option at point guard for the Grizzlies, Damichael Cole of The Commercial Appeal reports.
With Memphis still sorting through its point guard depth chart, it's possible Jerome is in pole position to begin the season as Memphis' top point guard in favor of Scotty Pippen. Health has long been a major obstacle for Jerome, but he's certainly shined in his starting opportunities over the past several years. Dating back to 2020-21, the 29-year-old has averaged 18.6 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in just 25.6 minutes per contest across 25 regular-season games as a starter in his career.

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Rises up depth chart
Jerome (ankle) moved up the depth chart earlier this offseason when Portland acquired Ja Morant in a trade with the Grizzlies.
Scotty Pippen (toe) appears to be the early favorite for the starting spot at point guard, but there's no denying how effective Jerome was when healthy in 2025-26. Across 15 regular-season appearances, Jerome averaged a hyper-efficient 19.7 points, 5.7 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals in just 22.6 minutes per game. Pippen underwent a toe procedure in March, so it remains to be seen if he'll be cleared for full participation in training camp this fall.
