This isn't something you see every day: Patriots coach Bill Belichick was spotted by the Boston Globe kissing the left elbow of TE Aaron Hernandez during Wednesday night's practice inside the stadium.

Hernandez had gotten caught up with LB Jerod Mayo during 7-on-7s and began shaking his arm after a play. Belichick playfully went to check on his young offensive weapon.

"I had a little bruise on my elbow and I was whining about it, and he was just showing me the love of a father figure and he gave me a kiss on the elbow," Hernandez told the paper Friday.

Did Hernandez ask for the kiss? "No, I didn't ask him," he said, smiling. "I damn sure liked it though. Felt some love."
