The Texans have reportedly cut ties with safety D.J. Swearinger after an odd exchange on Monday, according to the Houston Chronicle. The team later confirmed the report.
Swearinger took to Instagram on Monday after he apparently received the news of his termination, saying "It's time for a new chapter and the defining moment of my career."
Texans coach Bill O'Brien originally disputed the report. Swearinger totaled 74 tackles with two interceptions in 16 games in 2014.
