Broncos' Talanoa Hufanga: Considered unavailable Monday
Hufanga (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on the Broncos' estimated injury report Monday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports.
Hufanga suffered an ankle injury during the team's 23-17 win over the Chargers on Sunday, and the team will have a short week prior to facing the Seahawks on Thursday night. The safety will have two more chances to participate at practice this week, and if he can't go Thursday, Devon Key would be the top candidate to draw a start in Hufanga's place within Denver's secondary.

Broncos' Talanoa Hufanga: Done for day
Hufanga (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Hufanga had his lower body bent backwards while making a tackle in the second half, and his day has now officially come to a premature end. In his absence, JL Skinner and Devon Key are both candidates to see increased opportunities at safety.

Hufanga recorded five tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks and three pass defenses (one interception and a pick-six) during the Broncos' 30-26 win over the Rams in Week 3.
Hufanga's heroics in the fourth quarter was a driving force behind the Broncos' come-from-behind victory this past Sunday. It started early in the period with a 10-yard sack on Matthew Stafford on a third-and-5, leading to a 48-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis. Hufanga followed that up by picking off a Stafford pass intended for Kyren Williams, which Hufanga returned 66 yards for a touchdown to give the Broncos the lead. The sixth-year safety wrapped up his career night with a game-sealing interception off Stafford in the end zone on the final play of the contest. Hufanga and the Broncos will look to carry their momentum into a Week 4 road tilt against the 49ers this Sunday.

Hufanga played all 67 of the Broncos' defensive snaps in Monday's loss. The safety also played 21 percent of the team's snaps on special teams, logging five reps on kick and punt return coverage. Hufanga recorded 106 tackles (67 solo), including 2.0 sacks, 11 passes defensed and one forced fumble over 17 games in 2025.
Hufanga's first year with the Broncos was undoubtedly a success, as the veteran safety finished the season with the second-most tackles of any Broncos defender behind only Alex Singleton (135). The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal with Denver in 2025 after spending the first four years of his career in San Francisco, and he has proven to be a key contributor for the Broncos in just his first season with the team. Looking ahead to the 2026 campaign, Hufanga will look to build upon his strong start in the Mile High City, helping the Broncos to continue to boast one of the league's best defenses again next season.

Hufanga played every single defensive snap for the eighth time this season and fifth time over his last six games, but his three stops were his lowest since Week 4 against the Bengals (one). Hufanga is up to 97 combined tackles through 14 regular-season games, which matches his career high that he set in 2022 across 17 regular-season games as a member of the 49ers.
