Duehr finished 2023-24 with seven points over 40 contests. Duehr played in a career-high number of games, but his production dropped from 2022-23 (11 points in 27 outings). The path to playing time won't get easier as more of the Flames' prospects become NHL ready. The 26-year-old winger has rarely been more than a fourth-liner in his career, and he'll have to compete for that spot in training camp in the fall.... See More ... See Less

Flames' Walker Duehr: Pots goal in loss
Duehr scored a goal in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche. Duehr got into the lineup because Andrew Mangiapane (illness) and Andrei Kuzmenko (upper body) were unavailable. While he was able to get his first goal since Oct. 19, Duehr also saw a meager 5:45 of ice time. He has seven points, 26 shots on net, 60 hits and a minus-3 rating over 35 appearances, but he doesn't have the trust of head coach Ryan Huska.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Slings assist Saturday
Duehr posted an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Oilers. Duehr snapped a five-game slump when he set up a Nazem Kadri tally in the first period. This was the sixth game in a row Duehr has been under 10 minutes of ice time -- while he's playing regularly, he takes too few shifts to make a real impact in most contests. He's at six points, 20 shots on net, 51 hits and a plus-1 rating over 29 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Lends helper
Duehr notched an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Islanders. The helper was Duehr's first point since Nov. 4, though his chances to contribute were limited over much of the last three months. The Flames' forward depth has been depleted a bit lately, and that gives Duehr another chance to carve out a consistent fourth-line role. He's at five points, 15 shots on net and 36 hits through 23 outings this season after posting 11 points, 47 shots and 55 hits in 27 appearances a year ago.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Back in NHL
Duehr was recalled from AHL Calgary on Thursday. Duehr was sent to the minors last week after passing through waivers. The forward has played 19 games with the Flames this season, scoring once and adding three helpers. The Flames needed an extra forward as Dillon Dube has left the team for personal reasons and Martin Pospisil was placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury earlier in the week.... Flames' Walker Duehr: Waived Wednesday
Duehr was put on waivers Wednesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Duehr drew into the lineup in just three of Calgary's last nine games. He has a goal, four points, 25 hits and five blocks in 19 top-level appearances in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Opportunities limited
Duehr has played in just 10 of the Flames' 35 games since the start of November. Duehr was a fourth-line fixture last season, but he's had trouble getting in the lineup at all after a slow start in 2023-24. The 26-year-old has four points, 12 shots on net and 25 hits through 19 appearances this season. He filled in for Jonathan Huberdeau (illness) in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Coyotes, but Duehr's best chance for consistent playing time going forward would likely come at the expense of Dillon Dube or A.J. Greer.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Not playing Monday
Duehr (illness) will not suit up Monday against Colorado, per the NHL's media site. Duehr has now missed three straight games and 13 of the last 16, mostly due to being a healthy scratch. He'll be considered questionable for Tuesday's matchup in Vegas until more information is available.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Unavailable Saturday
Duehr (illness) will miss Saturday's game against New Jersey. Duehr was also unavailable for Thursday's 3-2 loss to Carolina. He has a goal, four points and 21 hits in 15 outings this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Sits out Thursday
Duehr missed Thursday's tilt versus Carolina with the flu. Duehr missed practice Friday as well and his status versus New Jersey on Saturday is up in the air. The winger has a goal and three assists in 15 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Garners assist in win
Duehr notched an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Kraken. Duehr fished out a loose puck that Philipp Grubauer failed to cover on A.J. Greer's breakaway shot. Mikael Backlund then followed up to convert the goal. Duehr snapped a four-game point drought and is up to one goal and three helpers through 11 outings as a fixture on the Flames' fourth line. The winger has added seven shots on net, 14 hits, two PIM and a plus-1 rating, though his limited role precludes him from making much of an impact in fantasy.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Nets goal in win
Duehr scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Sabres. Duehr's first-period marker put the Flames ahead 2-1. His line with Yegor Sharangovich and A.J. Greer was active and effective throughout the contest. Duehr won't challenge any scoring records, but he's up to two points, six hits, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-1 rating through four contests. Duehr will need to chip in on occasion to keep Dryden Hunt from taking his spot in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Dishes helper Wednesday
Duehr notched an assist in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Jets. Duehr helped out on MacKenzie Weegar's first-period tally. Duehr broke into the NHL lineup over the second half of the 2022-23 campaign, picking up a solid 11 points, 47 shots on goal and 55 hits in 27 games. He's still limited to a fourth-line role, where he'll be in contention with Dryden Hunt and A.J. Greer for playing time. Duehr's limited offense with solid physical play likely won't get him on the map in fantasy.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Assigned to minor-league affiliate
Duehr was assigned to AHL Calgary on Thursday. Duehr will head to the minors and presumably jump into a prominent role for AHL Calgary's upcoming playoff run. The 25-year-old winger picked up seven goals and 11 points through 27 NHL appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Scores go-ahead goal
Duehr scored a goal and added three hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Jets. Duehr banked in a wraparound shot to put the Flames up 2-1 at 4:08 of the third period. The winger saw just 8:51 of ice time in a penalty-filled game, but he made the most of it and kept the Flames' playoff hopes alive with a game-winning goal against the team they're chasing. The tally snapped a three-game point drought for Duehr, who is up to seven goals, 11 points, 46 shots on net, 51 hits and a plus-2 rating through 25 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Nets fourth goal of season
Duehr found the back of the net in Calgary's 4-3 overtime loss to Arizona on Tuesday. Duehr's marker came early in the second period and evened the score at 2-2. It was his fourth goal and fifth point in 16 games this season. Duehr was held off the scoresheet over his previous six contests.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Back in NHL
Duehr was recalled from AHL Calgary and will be in the lineup versus Minnesota on Saturday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Duehr was sent down Friday to make him eligible for the AHL playoffs. The winger has three goals and an assist in 13 games with the Flames this season. He had 15 goals and 26 points in 41 AHL games before his recall.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Assigned to AHL in paper move
Duehr was reassigned to AHL Calgary in a "paper move" Friday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports. There are plenty of players being sent to the AHL on Friday, making them eligible for the AHL playoffs. Duehr is expected to be recalled later in the day as he has three goals and an assist in 13 games with the Flames. Duehr's also added 15 goals and 11 assists in 41 AHL games this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Two points in return to big club
Duehr scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Coyotes. Duehr's first assist of the year was on the opening goal, as he found Milan Lucic open across the crease. In the third, Duehr made the most of a Chris Tanev pass, finishing with a top-shelf backhand shot. Duehr hadn't played in the NHL since Jan. 26, but an outing like this might lead to more time on the fourth line for him. He has three goals, one helper, 16 shots on net, 17 hits and an even plus-minus rating through nine appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Walker Duehr: Up with Flames
Duehr was recalled from AHL Calgary on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Flames placed defenseman Michael Stone (lower body) on injured reserve. Duehr has two goals, 12 shots on net and 16 hits in eight NHL outings this year. He will accompany the Flames on a three-game road trip this week.... See More ... See Less
