Mitchell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Mitchell will be a healthy scratch for a third consecutive game, as the Chiefs will go with a three-man backfield Sunday in Kareem Hunt, Isiah Pacheco and Brashard Smith. Mitchell's next opportunity to play is Week 15 against the Chargers on Sunday, Dec. 14, though he's unlikely to play unless Hunt, Pacheco or Smith miss time.

Mitchell (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Mitchell got a chance to make his season debut Week 11 versus Denver but reverted to being a healthy scratch Week 12. With Isiah Pacheco now back in action, Mitchell quietly falls back to No. 4 on Kansas City's backfield depth chart. In his lone regular-season appearance thus far, Mitchell played seven offensive snaps and failed to haul in his only target.

The running back made his season debut last Sunday against the Broncos but only played on seven of 70 offensive snaps. Mitchell is a healthy scratch even with Isiah Pacheco still out due to a knee issue. Kareem Hunt and Brashard Smith got most of Kansas City's offensive snaps at the running back spot a week ago.

Mitchell appeared in his first game of the season Sunday, operating as the No. 3 running back behind Kareem Hunt and Brashard Smith while Isiah Pacheco (knee) was inactive for the contest. The veteran played just seven of the Chiefs' 70 offensive snaps, while Hunt and Smith handled 56 and 12 snaps, respectively. Mitchell remains far off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Colts.
