Jamal Carter: Released by Falcons

Carter was released from the Falcons' practice squad Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The 26-year-old safety struggled mightily during Monday night's defeat to the Packers, allowing a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted in coverage. After being called up from the practice squad earlier in the week because of a rash of injuries to the Falcons' secondary, Carter is now searching for an NFL opportunity elsewhere.
